MLB: San Diego 13, Milwaukee 6

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Adrian Gonzalez had six hits and three RBI Tuesday to lead the San Diego Padres to a 13-6 thumping of the Milwaukee Brewers.

Will Venable and Henry Blanco both hit solo home runs for the Padres, who racked up 22 hits and won for the fourth time in their last five games.

San Diego broke a 2-2 with a run in the fifth inning and then exploded for six runs in the sixth and three in the seventh.

Gonzalez had a two-run single in the sixth and another RBI in the seventh.

Clayton Richard (2-0) picked up the win for the Padres despite giving up four runs on six hits in six innings.

Braden Looper (10-6) took the loss after giving up seven runs -- five earned -- on 11 hits in five-plus innings.

Mike Cameron and Bill Hall homered for the Brewers, who have lost three of four.
