MLB: Kansas City 14, Minnesota 6

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Miguel Olivo had three hits, including a home run, drove in three runs and scored three Tuesday in the Kansas City Royals' 14-6 pounding of Minnesota.

Alex Gordon, Yuniesky Betancourt and Mitch Maier had two hits and two RBI apiece for the Royals, who won for the third time in their last five games.

Kansas City starter Kyle Davies (4-8) went five innings, allowing one run on five hits with three walks and six strikeouts to get the win.

Denard Span drove in two runs and Delmon Young and Brendan Harris homered for the Twins.

Minnesota starter Nick Blackburn (8-7) lasted just 1 2/3 innings, allowing six runs on six hits in the Twins' eighth loss in their last 10 games.
