DENVER, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Troy Tulowitzki hit for the cycle, finishing with five hits and seven RBI Monday to power the Colorado Rockies over the Chicago Cubs 11-5.
Tulowitzki was the fifth Rockies player to hit for the cycle and the first since Mike Lansing in June 2000.
Clint Barmes hit a solo homer for the Rockies, who beat the Cubs for the third time in four games.
Jorge De La Rosa (10-8) went 7 2/3 innings, giving up one run on seven hits with four walks and 11 strikeouts to get the win. De La Rosa had two hits and scored a run.
Cubs' starter Tom Gorzelanny (4-2) gave up six runs on six hits before leaving in the second inning after being hit in the foot with a ground ball.
Esmailin Caridad came on in place of Gorzelanny and gave up three runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings in his big league debut.
Geovany Soto homered and knocked in two runs for the Cubs, who lost for the fourth time in their last five games.
