NEW YORK, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Quarterback Michael Vick, a free man after serving federal time for a dogfighting conviction, may be playing in the NFL again soon, his agent said Tuesday.
Joel Segal told ESPN Radio "there are a lot of teams interested" in signing his client and it's "not a matter of if, but when."
Former NFL coach Tony Dungy, appointed by the league as a mentor to the 29-year-old former Atlanta Falcons quarterback, also is in Vick's corner, saying he has recommended him to teams.
Dungy told ESPN coaches have called him and he thinks "something's gonna happen this week."
Baltimore Ravens General Manager Ozzie Newsome also told the network he believed Vick would sign soon with a team.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said last month Vick could play again under certain conditions.
