CHASKA, Minn., Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Trevor Immelman, the 2008 Masters champion, disclosed Tuesday he has withdrawn from the PGA Championship in Minnesota because of a wrist injury.

Immelman, a 29-year-old South African, will miss his third consecutive major because of the injured left wrist. He said he hurt it again while hitting out of the rough Sunday during the final round of the Bridgestone Invitational.

"Seriously frustrated at this point," Immelman wrote Tuesday on his Twitter feed.

Immelman will be replaced in the PGA field by Bob Estes, the first alternate, when the final major of the season gets under way Thursday at Hazeltine National in Chaska.
