MLS: Colorado 4, Chivas USA 0

COMMERCE CITY, Colo., Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Conor Casey scored three times in the first half Saturday, leading the Colorado Rapids to a 4-0 win over Chivas USA.

The striker scored in the fourth, 23rd and 45th minutes against Chivas goalkeeper Lance Parker in his MLS debut.

Casey's outburst increased his goal total to 11 and came after Pablo Mastroeni scored in the first minute.

The Rapids (8-6-6) won 4-0 for the second time in their last three games and rose to third place in the Western Conference.

Colorado goalie Matt Pickens made two saves for his fifth shutout this season.

The Goats (8-7-3) fell to fifth in the West after their fifth straight loss.
