
WASHINGTON, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Elijah Dukes drove in three runs Sunday, keying Washington's 9-2 rout of Arizona, its eighth straight victory.
Dukes hit an RBI single in the third and a two-run single in the eighth.
Adam Dunn hit his 30th homer, a two-run shot in the first.
Ryan Zimmerman increased his hitting streak to 13 straight games with three of Washington's 16 hits, while both Cristian Guzman and Nyjer Morgan had one RBI for the Nationals, whose eight-game winning streak is the longest since they relocated from Montreal in 2005.
In his first major league victory, winner J.D. Martin (1-2) surrendered a run and five hits in five innings.
Arizona scored its runs on homers by Trent Oeltjen leading off the contest and Mark Reynolds in the eighth, his 36th this season.
The losing pitcher was Yusmeiro Petit (2-6).
The Diamondbacks went 1-5 against Washington this season.
