MLB: N.Y. Yankes 5, Boston 0

NEW YORK, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Derek Jeter hit a two-run homer in the eighth Saturday in the New York Yankees' 5-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox.

CC Sabathia (12-7) allowed just two hits with two walks and nine strikeouts over 7 2/3 innings for his fourth win in his last five games.

Jose Molina, Nick Swisher and Mark Teixeira also drove in runs for the Yankees, who won six straight and lead Boston in the AL East by a season-best 5 1/2 games.

Clay Buchholz (1-2) suffered the loss after allowing two runs on six hits in six innings.

Jacoby Ellsbury had two hits for the Red Sox, who have lost five straight and have gone 24 consecutive innings without scoring a run.
