ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Orlando Magic forward Rashard Lewis has drawn a 10-game suspension for a positive drug test, the NBA said.

The 6-foot-10 inch Lewis said in a statement Thursday he unwittingly took an over-the-counter supplement late last season. The test revealed an elevated level of testosterone, a substance banned by the NBA.

"First and foremost, I take full responsibility for the situation and accept the corresponding penalty," Lewis said in a statement released by the team. "I apologize to Magic fans, my teammates and this organization for not doing the research that should come with good judgment."

Lewis averaged 19 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists in the playoffs last season, helping the Magic beat Boston in the Eastern Conference championships before losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals.

In the regular season, he averaged 17.7 points in 79 games.
