NEW YORK, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Major League Baseball announced Thursday fines had been levied on Milwaukee first baseman Prince Fielder and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Guillermo Mota.

Neither player, however, will be suspended for their roles in a series of incidents during and after a Dodgers-Brewers game Tuesday.

Mota hit Fielder with a pitch on the right leg with two out in the ninth inning of a game the Dodgers won 17-4. The move appeared to be in retaliation for Chris Smith hitting Los Angeles star Manny Ramirez in the seventh.

Mota was ejected from the game and after the contest, Fielder joined a number of teammates in attempting to enter the Los Angeles clubhouse.

The Milwaukee players were stopped by security personnel. Witnesses said most of the Milwaukee players involved were trying to prevent Fielder from further escalating the incident.

The announcement by MLB did not specify the amount of the fines.
