MLB: Washington 12, Florida 8

WASHINGTON, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Ryan Zimmerman hit a two-run homer with four hits and three RBI Thursday, rallying Washington to a 12-8 win over Florida.

The win completed a three-game sweep.

The Marlins held an early 6-0 lead, but later, Washington's Elijah Dukes had three hits -- one a solo homer -- and four RBI.

Alberto Gonzalez drove in two, Ronnie Belliard had two hits and one RBI, while Josh Bard had one RBI for the Nationals, who have won five straight.

The winner was reliever Jorge Sosa (1-0).

Florida's John Baker hit a two-run homer.

Hanley Ramirez, the NL's leading hitter, had three hits and one RBI.

A run scored on an error, another on a wild pitch, Chris Coghlan had two hits and one RBI, while former National Nick Johnson had one RBI for the Marlins, who have lost four of five.

The losing pitcher was Luis Ayala (0-2).
