MLB: Detroit 7, Baltimore 3

DETROIT, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Brandon Inge and Curtis Granderson had two hits and two RBI each Thursday, leading Detroit to a 7-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles.

Inge hit a two-run first inning homer, his 22nd this season, for a quick 2-0 Detroit lead. Granderson later had two run-scoring hits. Placido Polanco and Alex Avila had two hits and one RBI each.

Clete Thomas drove in a run, while Carlos Guillen added two hits to Detroit's 13-hit total.

Winner Rick Porcello (10-7) gave up two runs and four hits in 5 2/3 innings.

Brandon Lyon, Detroit's fourth pitcher, earned his first save.

Ty Wigginton led Baltimore with two hits and one RBI. Aubrey Huff and Felix Pie had one RBI each for the Orioles, who have lost six of eight.

Losing pitcher David Hernandez (3-4) yielded five runs and seven hits in three innings.
