KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Jose Lopez and Russell Branyan each had two RBI for Seattle in the Mariners' 7-6 win over the Kansas City Royals Tuesday.
Branyan drove in the go-ahead run with a base hit in the seventh, and Ichiro Suzuki and Ken Griffey Jr. drove in a run apiece.
Branyan broke a 6-6 tie with a bouncer up the middle with runners at the corners off Ron Mahay, who had come in to relieve Jamey Wright (1-4).
Shawn Kelley (3-1) picked up the win in relief, and David Aardsma earned his 26th save with a scoreless ninth.
Seattle scored twice in the sixth to take a 6-5 lead, but Kansas City tied it in the bottom half of the inning on a Yuniesky Betancourt RBI double. Betancourt also drove in a run in the fourth with a triple.
Wright, who gave up a run on two hits in an inning's relief, took the loss for the Royals.
