
SAN DIEGO, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Martin Prado drove in three runs Tuesday in Atlanta's 9-2 romp over the San Diego Padres.
Prado's solo home run in the fifth inning proved to the game winner, but the Braves tacked on four runs in the sixth to nail down just their second win in their last seven games.
Atlanta out-hit San Diego 17-4, while Javier Vazquez (9-7) picked up the win, giving up two runs on six strikeouts, four hits and two walks over seven innings.
Tim Stauffer (1-3) took the loss with three runs on eight hits over five innings.
Will Venable homered for the Padres, who had won six of seven coming into the game. His solo shot in the first inning gave San Diego a brief 1-0 lead.
The Braves came back with single runs in the second and fourth innings to take a 2-1 lead. Chase Headley tied the score in the bottom of the fourth with a double that brought Venable in from second.
Atlanta went ahead 3-2 on Prado's home run and then chalked up four runs in the next inning on a two-run homer by Matt Diaz and a two-run single by Prado.
