PITTSBURGH, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Adam Dunn had three hits including a three-run homer Monday to lead the Washington Nationals to an 8-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Cristian Guzman was 2-for-4 with two RBI, two runs scored and a walk. Ryan Zimmerman had a two-run homer and scored twice, and Elijah Dukes had two hits and an RBI for the Nationals.
Tyler Clippard (2-1) worked three innings of relief to earn the win. Washington starter Garrett Mock lasted four-plus innings and gave up three runs on seven hits and four walks.
Losing pitcher Charlie Morton (2-4) allowed four runs and six hits in six innings. Jeff Karstens gave up four runs and five hits in two-thirds of an inning.
Andrew McCutchen homered and Ryan Doumit had three hits including an RBI double for the Pirates, who have lost seven of their last nine games.
