
MIAMI, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Dan Uggla and Cody Ross hit back-to-back solo homers in the ninth inning Sunday, rallying Florida to a 3-2 win over the Chicago Cubs.
Uggla's 19th homer erased a 2-1 deficit with one out in the bottom of the ninth and Ross followed with his second homer of the contest and 17th this season. His 16th created a 1-1 tie with one out in the seventh.
Chris Coghlan also had two hits for the Marlins, who won twice in the three-game series and moved within five of National League East-leading Philadelphia.
The winner was Brendan Donnelly (2-0).
A solo homer by Jake Fox had given Chicago a 2-1 advantage leading off the top of the ninth.
Derek Lee hit a RBI single in the third and Ryan Theriot had three of the six hits for the Cubs, who have split their last four games.
The losing pitcher following his fifth blown save was closer Kevin Gregg (4-3).
