MLB: Pittsburgh 11, Washington 6

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Andrew McCutchen hit three homers and knocked in six runs Saturday, leading Pittsburgh to an 11-6 win over Washington.

McCutchen doubled his career home run total to six with a solo homer in the top of the first, a two-run homer in the fourth and a three-run shot in the sixth. He finished with four of Pittsburgh's 14 hits.

Former National Lastings Milledge had two RBI, while Andy LaRoche, Brandon Moss and Ronny Cedeno each had two hits and one RBI for the Pirates, who have won the first two contests in the four-game series.

The winner was Virgil Vasquez (2-5).

Washington's Ryan Zimmerman had three hits and one RBI.

Josh Bard and Christian Guzman each had two hits and one RBI.

Anderson Hernandez, Adam Dunn and Elijah Dukes each added one RBI for the Nationals, who sank 40 games under .500 (32-72).

The losing pitcher was Craig Stammen (3-6).
