
CINCINNATI, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Ubaldo Jimenez limited Cincinnati to two runs and five hits in eight innings Saturday, leading the Colorado Rockies to a 6-2 win over the Reds.
In 111 pitches, Jimenez (8-9) did not walk a batter and fanned eight.
Colorado's Seth Smith hit a solo fifth-inning homer, his only hit. Ian Stewart's lone hit was a two-run fourth-inning single, Troy Tulowitzki had two hits and one RBI, Carlos Gonzalez and Clint Barmes had one RBI each, and Brad Hawpe had two hits for the Rockies, who have won three in a row.
Cincinnati's Jonny Gomes and Joey Votto had one RBI apiece, with Gomes hitting a solo second-inning homer. Ryan Hanigan, Drew Sutton and Brandon Phillips had one hit each for the Reds, who have lost 11 of 12.
Losing pitcher Homer Bailey (2-3) yielded five runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.
