SAN FRANCISCO, July 31 (UPI) -- Eugenio Velez and Pablo Sandoval both drove in two runs in the fourth Thursday and San Francisco took advantage of three errors to whip Philadelphia 7-2.

Only three of the San Francisco runs were earned. The Giants, who are out front in the National League wild-card chase, won their fourth straight.

Jonathan Sanchez (4-9) got the win, allowing two runs on three hits in 5 2/3. He left the game with a 7-1 lead.

San Francisco broke the game open with a four-run fourth, all of the runs being unearned.

Edgar Renteria reached on a one-out single and Juan Uribe reached on a throwing error by third baseman Pedro Feliz.

Sanchez then lined out to the pitcher for what would have been the third out of the inning, if not for the error. Randy Winn kept things going by drawing a walk that loaded the bases, Velez followed with a single that drove in Renteria and Uribe, and Sandoval doubled home Winn and Velez.

Rodrigo Lopez (3-1) suffered his first loss of the season, giving up eight hits in a four-inning stint.
