NEW YORK, July 31 (UPI) -- Justin Upton dashed home from third on a wild pitch by Sean Green with two out in the eighth inning Friday, giving Arizona a 3-2 win over the New York Mets.

Four of the five runs in the game came on solo homers, but the deciding run scored off a mistake by a pitcher who had thrown only 11 wild pitches in his four-year career.

Green (1-3) came on to relieve Pedro Feliciano in the eighth after Feliciano had given up a leadoff single to Gerardo Parra. Green hit Justin Upton with a pitch and walked Mark Reynolds to load the bases.

Miguel Montero grounded into a double play that included a force of Parra at home. That play made Green the pitcher of record and he took the loss when he uncorked the wild pitch on a 1-0 count with Ryan Roberts at the plate.

Arizona took the lead on a homer by Mark Reynolds in the second and Daniel Murphy tied it with a blast in the bottom half of the inning.

Montero homered in the fourth and the Mets tied it in the sixth on another home run by David Wright.

Esmerling Vasquez (2-2) got the win with an inning of relief and Chad Qualls threw 11 pitches to retire the side in the ninth for his 19th save.
