Lakers celebrate 15th NBA championship with a parade in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, July 30 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to re-sign veteran forward Lamar Odom, the Los Angeles Times said.

No terms were disclosed by the team, but the newspaper said it was told by an unnamed source that the 6-foot-10 inch Odom got a four-year deal worth $33 million if the Lakers exercise the final year of the contract.

"LA was the first place that came to my mind, that's where my heart was at," he told the newspaper Thursday. "I was going to fight for what I wanted."

Odom will be 30 years old in November and had admitted that his age and the poor economy would force him to take a pay cut if he came back to the NBA champion Lakers next season.

He averaged 12.3 points and 9.1 rebounds in 16 playoff games last season and his scoring average is 15.1 points in 665 NBA contests.
