Medina Garrigues in Istanbul quarterfinal

ISTANBUL, Turkey, July 30 (UPI) -- Third-seeded Anabel Medina Garrigues rallied to defeat wild card Pemra Ozgen Thursday and earn a quarterfinal berth at the Istanbul Cup.

Medina Garrigues recorded a 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 victory that set up a quarterfinal meeting with fifth-seeded Vera Dushevina.

Andrea Petkovic, a surprise champion last week at Bad Gastein, kept her hot streak going with a 6-1, 6-0 blasting of Rossana de los Rios. Petkovic will take on No. 7 seed Olga Govortsova in the quarterfinals.

The other quarterfinal matches will see Lucie Hradecka playing Marta Domachowska and Timea Bacsinszky facing Urszula Radwanska.

Hradecka reached the quarterfinals by defeating Julia Goerges 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 and Radwanska was a 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 winner over Ekaterina Dzehalevich.
