
CINCINNATI, July 30 (UPI) -- Will Venable had four hits and four RBI Thursday, keying San Diego's 7-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
His biggest hit, a three-run homer, gave San Diego a 6-1 lead with two outs in the top of the fifth.
Chase Headley had two hits and one RBI.
A run scored on Henry Blanco's second-inning double play ground out.
Kevin Kouzmanoff also had one RBI while Luis Rodriguez added two hits for the Padres, who won the final three contests in the four-game series.
Winner Tim Stauffer (1-2) gave up a run and seven hits in seven innings.
Brandon Phillips led Cincinnati with two hits and one RBI.
Adam Rosales hit a pinch three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth and both Jerry Hairston Jr. and Craig Tatum added two hits each for the Reds, who have lost seven of eight.
The losing pitcher was starter Johnny Cueto (8-8).
