
PHOENIX, July 30 (UPI) -- Yusmeiro Petit struck out eight over six innings Wednesday and combined with three relievers on a shutout in bringing Arizona a 4-0 win over Philadelphia.
The Phillies had a four-game winning streak halted and failed to finish off a big day in which they obtained defending American League Cy Young Award winner Cliff Lee from Cleveland.
Petit (1-5) started for the ninth time this season and finally recorded a victory by allowing four hits and walking just one.
Juan Gutierrez, Jon Rauch and Chad Qualls finished off the shutout .
Justin Upton hit a two-run homer in the first, Chris Snyder contributed a solo shot in the seventh and Upton added an RBI single in the eighth.
J.A. Happ (7-2) suffered the loss, giving up two runs on just three hits in six innings. After winning his first seven decisions of the season, Happ has lost twice in five days.
