Goya leads the Moravia Silesia Open

CELADNA, Czech Republic, July 30 (UPI) -- Argentina's Estanislao Goya opened with a 7-under-par 65 Thursday and leads the European Tour's Moravia Silesia Open in Celadna, Czech Republic, by one stroke.

The inaugural tournament field includes course designer Miguel Angel Jimenez.

Goya, nicknamed Tano, closed his first round with birdies at the 17th and 18th holes, giving him five birdies, a bogey at the second and an eagle at the par-5 16th.

"I'm very happy," Goya said following his lowest round this season. "I played really good. When you play well and have a good round you are relieved in the first round. I also putted well. That helped me do that round. The key was hitting the greens."

Englishmen John Bickerton and Steve Webster are 6-under 66 and share second place, with France's Francoise Delamontagne, Spain's Ignacio Garrido and Robert-Jan Dirksen are 5-under 67 and tied for fourth.
