
ANAHEIM, Calif., July 29 (UPI) -- Howie Kendrick hit a two-run homer and drove in five Wednesday, leading the LA Angels to a 9-3 win over Cleveland.
The homer, his sixth, gave Los Angeles a 9-1 lead with two outs in the bottom of the seventh.
Earlier, Kendrick also hit an RBI single in the first and a two-run single in the fifth.
Kendry Morales had two hits and two RBI.
Bobby Abreu had two hits and one RBI, while one run scored on Shin-Soo Choo's fifth-inning error for the Angels, who have won 10 of their last 12 games.
Winner John Lackey (7-4) surrendered one run and three hits in seven innings with four walks and eight strikeouts.
Kelly Shoppach had two hits -- one a two-run double -- and Jhonny Peralta had an RBI for the Indians, who have lost two straight following a five-game winning streak.
The losing pitcher was Aaron Laffey (4-3).
