MIAMI, July 29 (UPI) -- Josh Johnson worked six innings and helped his own cause with a three-run homer in the fourth Wednesday, lifting Florida to a 6-3 victory over Atlanta.

Johnson (10-2) allowed three runs on eight hits to record his third straight win. He homered for the second time this season after hitting none his first four years.

Hanley Ramirez had a triple and homer while driving in two runs, and Dan Uggla added a solo shot for the Marlins, who have won seven of their last eight games.

Kenshin Kawakami (5-8) suffered the loss, surrendering six runs on seven hits in 4 2/3. Atlanta's runs came on homers -- a solo shot by Casey Kotchman in the fifth and a two-run blast from Garret Anderson in the sixth.

Atlanta went 7-2 after the All-Star break, but has lost three of its last four.

After Atlanta catcher Brian McCann took a called third strike to end the top of the eighth, Braves Manager Bobby Cox and McCann were thrown out of the game by home plate umpire Bill Hohn for arguing the call.

Cox extended his major league record for ejections to 147.
