MLB: Cleveland 8, Los Angeles Angels 6

ANAHEIM, Calif., July 28 (UPI) -- Victor Martinez smacked a three-run homer as part of a four-run Cleveland ninth Monday and the Indians came from behind to beat the Los Angeles Angels 8-6.

Jhonny Peralta had four hits, including a solo homer, and three RBI. Chris Gimenez and Kelly Shoppach had two hits and an RBI apiece and Shin-Soo Choo had four hits and scored three runs for Cleveland, which has won five straight.

Jose Veras (4-1) pitched two scoreless innings to get the win and Kerry Wood shut the Angels down in the ninth to get his 14th save.

Kendry Morales had two solo homers, Juan Rivera homered and drove in two runs and Mike Napoli had a solo homer for the Angels, who lost their second straight game after an eight-game winning streak. Bobby Abreu had two hits, one RBI, one run scored and two stolen bases for the Angels.

Joe Saunders gave up four runs on 10 hits in five innings for LA.

Brian Fuentes (1-3) allowed four runs and failed to get anybody out in the ninth to take the loss after converting his last 17 save opportunities.
