CINCINNATI, July 27 (UPI) -- The Cincinnati Reds Monday placed outfielder Chris Dickerson and starting pitcher Micah Owings on the 15-day disabled list, the team announced.

Dickerson and Owings both suffered shoulder injuries in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Cubs in Chicago. Dickerson got a bruised right shoulder when he tried to make a diving catch and Owings left the game with a stiff shoulder.

Dickerson is batting .259 with two homers and 13 RBI over 85 games while Owings is 6-11 with a 5.35 ERA in 18 starts.

Going into Monday's game against San Diego, the Reds had lost six straight and were in fifth in the National League Central with a 44-53 record.
