MLB: Kansas City 5, Baltimore 3

BALTIMORE, July 27 (UPI) -- Billy Butler had five hits, including two doubles, and three RBI Monday to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 5-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.

Mark Teahen added two hits and an RBI for the Royals.

Royals starter Bruce Chen gave up three runs in five innings. Winner Robinson Tejeda (1-0) pitched three shutout innings, allowing one hit, in relief and Joakim Soria worked the ninth for his 16th save.

Orioles starter Rich Hill was pulled after 2 1/3 innings. He gave up three runs on four hits and three walks.

Brian Bass followed with 3 1/3 frames of scoreless relief, but Matt Albers (1-4) allowed the go-ahead run and took the loss.

Adam Jones homered and drove in two runs for Baltimore, which has lost six of its last seven games.
