MLS: D.C. United 2, San Jose 2 (tie)

SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 26 (UPI) -- Cornell Glen scored on a penalty kick in the 62nd minute Saturday to help the San Jose Earthquakes forge a 2-2 tie with D.C. United.

Christian Gomez scored twice for United in the first 20 minutes but the Quakes cut the deficit to 2-1 when Ryan Johnson scored in the final minutes of the first half.

The tie dropped United (6-3-10) into third place in the Eastern Conference, two points behind first place Columbus and one point behind Chicago.

San Jose (3-10-5) is last in the West.
