BAD GASTEIN, Austria, July 25 (UPI) -- Loana Raluca Olaru of Romania upset top-seeded Alize Cornet of France Saturday in the semifinals of the Gastein Ladies tennis tournament.
Olaru, 20 and ranked 66th in the world, rallied from a set down to post a 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 victory to reach a WTA Tour final for the first time in her young career.
She will meet another first-time WTA finalist, 21-year-old German Andrea Petkovic, in Sunday's final. Olaru swept to a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova in Saturday's other semifinal.
Petkovic, ranked 98th, and Olaru will meet for the third time this year, but for the first time in the main field of a WTA event. Olaru won in the semifinals of an ITF event in Marseille last month and while Petkovic won a qualifying match in straight sets at Indian Wells back in March.
