
NEW YORK, July 25 (UPI) -- Landon Powell and Orlando Cabrera had two RBI each Saturday, boosting Oakland to a 6-4 win over the New York Yankees.
The loss ended New York's eight-game winning streak.
Powell's bases-loaded two-run single broke a 1-1 tie with two outs in the top of the seventh.
Cabrera's two-run double made Oakland's lead 6-1.
Adam Kennedy and Rajai Davis had one RBI apiece, while Powell and Bobby Crosby added two hits each for the Athletics, who broke an eight-game losing streak at Yankee Stadium.
Winner Gio Gonzalez (2-2) yielded a run and just two hits in 6 2/3 innings with three walks and six strikeouts.
Closer Andrew Bailey earned his 11th save.
New York scored on Derek Jeter's two-run homer and Mark Teixeira's solo shot, both in the eighth, and Brett Gardner sixth-inning triple.
The Yankees had not lost since the All-Star break.
The losing pitcher was starter Andy Pettitte (8-6).
