ANAHEIM, Calif., July 24 (UPI) -- Mike Napoli doubled home Bobby Abreu with two out in the 10th inning Thursday, giving the Los Angeles Angels a dramatic 6-5 win over Minnesota.
Los Angeles erased a two-run deficit in the ninth against closer Joe Nathan and then got to Jesse Crain in the 10th to win its sixth straight game.
Jason Kubel hit a two-run homer in the first for Minnesota and added an RBI single in the sixth, helping the Twins built a 5-3 lead going into the bottom of the ninth.
Nathan came on in a bid to earn his 27th save, but walked Abreu, hit Napoli with a pitch and gave up a run-scoring single to Gary Matthews. Howie Kendrick then reached on an infield single that deflected off Nathan, tying the game.
Craig (2-4) replaced Nathan to start the 10th and promptly gave up a single to Chone Figgins. A sacrifice by Brandon Wood put Figgins on second and Abreu was intentionally walked.
Napoli doubled to deep right to produce the winning run.
Brian Fuentes (1-2) got the win by pitching the top of the 10th.
