
CHICAGO, July 24 (UPI) -- Aramis Ramirez had four hits and three RBI Friday, boosting the Chicago Cubs to an 8-5 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.
One of Ramirez's hits, a leadoff homer in the bottom of the sixth, snapped a 3-3 tie.
One of two hits by Derek Lee was a two-run eighth-inning homer. Jeff Baker and Mike Fontenot hit solo homers, while Kosuke Fukudome added two hits for the Cubs, who have split their last four games.
Winner Randy Wells (6-4) surrendered three runs and seven hits in six innings with a walk and five strikeouts.
Losing pitcher Aaron Harang hit a three-run, second-inning homer and Willy Taveras had two hits and two RBI for the Reds, who have lost four in a row.
Harang (5-11) gave up four runs and nine hits in six innings with a walk and six strikeouts.
