Dancevic defeats top seed in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, July 24 (UPI) -- Frank Dancevic eliminated top-seeded Dmitry Tursunov at the Indianapolis Championships Friday and set up a semifinal meeting with Sam Querrey.

Dancevic scored a 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 win and will meet Querrey for the first time. Querrey reached the semifinals by serving 19 aces and defeating Marc Gicquel 6-4, 7-5.

Tursunov, who was trying to reach his third straight Indianapolis final, lost to Dancevic for the first time in four matchups.

The other semifinal Saturday will bring together Robby Ginepri and John Isner.

Ginepri defeated qualifier Alex Bogomolov Jr. 7-5, 6-1 to reach the semifinals in an ATP event for the second time in his career. Isner survived against Wayne Odesnik 7-5, 6-7 (2-7), 7-5.
