INDIANAPOLIS, July 23 (UPI) -- Top-seeded Dmitry Tursunov, who recently earned the sixth tournament title of his career, reached the quarterfinals Thursday at the Indianapolis Championship.

After rain wiped out the entire day's play Wednesday, Marcos Daniel finished the first round with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Taylor Dent.

Daniel then had to play again, taking on Tursunov in what turned out to be a 6-3, 6-3 win for the No. 1 seed. Tursunov captured the pre-Wimbledon tournament at Eastbourne, his first career victory on grass.

Frank Dancevic earned a quarterfinal meeting with Tursunov by downing Benjamin Becker 6-2, 7-5.

Second-seeded Dudi Sela became a second-round upset victim, falling to Alex Bogomolov 6-4, 7-6. No. 3 seed Sam Querrey advanced with a 7-5, 6-3 triumph over Rajeev Ram.
