
PITTSBURGH, July 22 (UPI) -- Brandon Moss hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the ninth Wednesday, lifting the Pittsburgh Pirates to an 8-7 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.
His fifth homer this season was his lone hit in the finale of the three-game series.
Pittsburgh catcher Ryan Duomit hit two homers, good for three RBI.
Andrew McCutchen had two hits -- one a solo homer -- while Garrett Jones had three hits and one RBI for the Pirates, who won twice in the series.
The winner was closer Matt Capps (2-5).
Ryan Braun led Milwaukee with two hits -- one a solo homer -- and four RBI.
Casey McGehee had two hits and two RBI, while Bill Hall added two hits and one RBI for the Brewers, who have split their last three of four overall.
The losing pitcher was Mitch Stetter (2-1).
