PHOENIX, July 20 (UPI) -- Guard Steve Nash has agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Phoenix Suns, The Arizona Republic reported Monday.

The deal, which would keep Nash with the NBA club through the 2011-12 season, is for about $22 million, the newspaper said, citing Nash's agent. About $6 million would be pushed to the two years after the contract ends.

The 35-year-old, six-time All-Star averaged 15.7 points and 9.7 assists last season, and 14.4 points and 8.0 assists in 13 seasons with Phoenix and Dallas.

He played the next six years with the Mavericks before signing with the Suns as a free agent before the 2004-05 campaign.
