Petzschner, Beck win Hamburg openers

HAMBURG, Germany, July 20 (UPI) -- Germans Philipp Petzschner and Andreas Beck were among Monday's winners in the opening round of the men's Hamburg Open.

Petzschner posted a 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 victory over France's Florent Serra and Beck rallied from a set down for a 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 6-4 victory over Spain's Oscar Hernandez.

German Daniel Brands came back for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory over Romanian Victor Crivoi; German Simon Greul rallied for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic; Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay beat German Bjorn Phau 7-6 (7-0), 6-4; and Jan Hernych of the Czech Republic had a 6-0, 4-6, 6-3 victory over German Kevin Krawietz.
