MLS: Columbus 3, Real Salt Lake 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 19 (UPI) -- Jason Carey scored twice Saturday to lead the Columbus Crew to a 3-1 Major League Soccer win over Real Salt Lake.

The Crew equaled an MLS record by winning their 17th straight home game.

Steven Lenhart scored in the 23rd minute and added an assist on Carey's second goal, while goalkeeper William Hesmer made four saves for the Crew (6-3-9), whose last home loss was 2-0 to San Jose June 7, 2008.

RSL's lone goal came when Raphael Cox scored his first career goal in the 76th minute. RSL, which had its five-game unbeaten streak snapped.
