MLB: Cincinnati 5, Milwaukee 3

CINCINNATI, July 19 (UPI) -- Cincinnati's Jonny Gomes broke a tie with a two-run home run in the eighth inning and the Reds held on Sunday for a 5-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Gomes also drove in a run with a single and Brandon Phillips added a two-run single, helping the Reds split a four-game series.

Prince Fielder clubbed a two-run homer for Milwaukee.

Reliever David Weathers (2-2) got the win after pitching a scoreless eighth inning. Francisco Cordero notched his 22nd save in 23 chances this season.

Seth McClung (3-3), who yielded Gomes' go-ahead homer, took the loss.
