MADISON, Ill., July 19 (UPI) -- Kyle Busch took the lead with 29 laps left Saturday and won the Nationwide Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 250 at Madison, Ill.
Busch took the lead when Kevin Harvick ran out of gas and fought off challenges from Reed Sorenson and Carl Edwards in the closing laps to record his sixth victory this season and 27th of his Nationwide career.
The Joe Gibbs Racing driver has won at 17 different Nationwide race tracks. He won Saturday after starting in the fifth row.
"That's pretty cool," he said. "It goes back to this team. They gave me a great car all weekend long."
Mike Bliss and Brad Coleman rounded out the top five.
Harvick, who led a race-high 105 laps, ran out of fuel on lap 172 and finished in 17th place.
Busch increased his lead atop the latest Nationwide standings to 212 points over Edwards.
