Rain suspends semifinal action at Prague

PRAGUE, Czech Republic, July 18 (UPI) -- Rain Saturday forced the suspension of semifinal action at the Prague Open.

Second-seeded Austrian Sybille Bammer was ahead of third-seeded Iveta Benesova 3-0 in the first set when the rain began. Play was immediately halted and did not resume.

The semifinals, which also include a match between top-seeded Francesca Schiavone and Timea Bacsinszky, will be played prior to Sunday's final.
