
PITTSBURGH, July 18 (UPI) -- Charlie Morton and two relievers combined on a five-hit shutout Saturday, leading the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 2-0 win over the San Francisco Giants.
Morton (2-2) surrendered three hits in seven innings with two walks and six strikeouts.
John Grabow pitched a 1-2-3 eighth and closer Matt Capps recorded his 20th save despite giving up two hits in the top of the ninth.
Ryan Doumit and Andy LaRoche had one RBI apiece and Andrew McCutchen had two of the six hits for the Pirates, who can sweep the series with a win Sunday.
Edgar Renteria had two of the five hits for the Giants, who have lost three in a row.
Losing pitcher Barry Zito (5-10), a former American League Cy Young Award winner, yielded two runs and six hits in 6 1/3 innings.
