The 22-year-old Chardy withstood 10 Keifer service aces to earn a chance to win his first career title Sunday after saving 6-of-7 break points in his win over Zverev.

Also Saturday, fourth-seeded Victor Hanescu of Romania beat Italy's Fabio Fognini 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2.

Fognini failed to pull off his second straight surprise after beating No. 2 seed Nikolay Davydenko 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 in a quarterfinal Friday.

Numerous service errors led to his ouster.

Sunday's Chardy-Hanescu winner takers home a $101,000 champion's check.
