Schiavone breezes into Prague semis

PRAGUE, Czech Republic, July 17 (UPI) -- Francesca Schiavone breezed to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Kateryna Bondarenko Friday, putting her in the semifinals of the Prague Open.

The top-seeded Schiavone will meet qualifier Timea Bacsinszky in the semifinals after Bacsinszky surprised fourth-seeded Carla Suarez Navarro 6-4, 6-4.

No. 2 seed Sybille Bammer survived in one of the best matches of the tournament, downing Lucie Hradecka 7-5, 5-7, 7-5.

Iveta Benesova ousted Zarina Divas 6-4, 6-1 to earn a semifinal match against Bammer.
