MLS: Toronto 3, San Jose 1

SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 12 (UPI) -- Chad Barret scored twice Saturday and Toronto FC climbed into a tie with Chicago for first place in the MLS Eastern Conference with a 3-1 win over San Jose.

Pablo Vitti also scored for Toronto (8-6-4), which won on the road for just the second time this season.

Barrett opened the scoring five minutes into the game and Darren Huckerby got the equalizer for San Jose (3-9-4) 25 minutes later. Vitti came up with the decisive score in the 54th minute.
