
DETROIT, July 12 (UPI) -- Clete Thomas knocked in a career-high five runs Sunday, fueling Detroit's 10-1 rout of Cleveland.
Thomas hit an RBI triple in the second, a three-run homer in the fourth and an RBI single in the fifth.
All-Star Brandon Inge hit two homers -- a solo shot in the fourth and a two-run blast in the fifth.
Marcus Thames had four hits and one RBI and scored a run in the sixth on a fielding error by Asdrubal Cabrera.
Winner Justin Verlander (10-4) gave up five hits in seven scoreless innings with three walks and seven strikeouts.
Three relievers finished for the Tigers, who won two of the three games before the start of the All-Star break Monday.
Cleveland's run scored on Jamey Carroll's bases-loaded walk in the ninth.
Grady Sizemore had two of the seven hits for the Indians, who have lost seven of eight to Detroit.
The losing pitcher was starter Tomo Ohka (0-3).
