Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

BLAINE, Minn., July 11 (UPI) -- Nick Price shot a 4-under-par 68 Saturday to take sole possession of the lead after the second round of the seniors 3M Championship.
Price, a first-round co-leader, finished 36 holes at 11-under 133 and has a one-stroke lead over Andy Bean and Gene Jones.
Bean, who shared first with Price after Friday's opening round, posted a 3-under 69 and is tied for second place with Jones, who had a 68, at 10-under 134.
Bernhard Langer, the leading 2009 money winner on the Champions Tour, had a 4-under 68 and is in fourth at 9-under 135.
Tom Kite (67) and Scott Hoch (69) share fifth at 136, and Steve Thomas, who posted an 8-under 64 Saturday, was seventh at 7-under 137.
